Ms. Lozano is excited to start her second year teaching 5th grade. She was previously an instructional assistant at Cambridge and a substitute teacher in the district. She earned her B.A. and teaching credential from Sonoma State University. Having been an English language learner herself, she understands the experience of learning a new language and is passionate about supporting multilingual learners.
When she’s not teaching, Ms. Lozano enjoys traveling, reading, spending time with family, and watching Formula 1 and soccer.
Jazi Ortiz

Mrs. Ortiz is excited to begin a new chapter as a Dual Language teacher at Cambridge Elementary School! From the moment she arrived, she felt right at home and is grateful to be part of such a wonderful school community. Before joining Cambridge, she taught for two years in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, working with Kindergarten, first, fourth, and fifth grade students. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education from UACJ.
What Mrs. Ortiz loves most about teaching is watching her students grow and become more confident throughout the year. She loves encouraging them to believe in themselves and discover that they are capable of great things. She believes learning goes beyond academics and wants to give her students lessons they can carry into everyday life.
Outside of school, Mrs. Ortiz enjoys spending time with her husband and friends, eating pho and tacos, and cooking Mexican favorites like birria and pozole. She especially loves spending time at her favorite place, TC. She is excited for a year full of learning, growth, and wonderful memories!
